## Call it

MCP tool call:

```json
{
  "name": "merge_sheet_cells",
  "arguments": {
    "spreadsheet_id": "<spreadsheet_id>",
    "range_": "<range_>"
  }
}
```

Tool API (early access — contact us):

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.sellersheetai.com/api/v1/tools/merge_sheet_cells \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SELLERSHEET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"spreadsheet_id":"<spreadsheet_id>","range_":"<range_>"}'
```

## Arguments

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `spreadsheet_id` | string | yes | the spreadsheet ID (from its URL or get_sheet_metadata). |
| `range_` | string | yes | A1 notation range (e.g. 'Sheet1!A1:B2'). |
| `merge_type` | string | | MERGE_ALL (one merged cell, the default), MERGE_COLUMNS (one merge per column) or MERGE_ROWS (one merge per row). |

## Result

- Success confirmation.

## Gotchas

- Every range here must name its tab and both ends ('Tab!A1:D10'); a range without a tab ('A1:D10') or with an open end ('Tab!A:D') is refused.

## Example

- merge_sheet_cells("1ABC...", "Sheet1!A1:B2", "MERGE_ALL")
