# listings_parse_asin_to_cells (https://sellersheetai.com/docs/mcp-api/tools/listings_parse_asin_to_cells)

> Convenience: fetch an ASIN's catalog attributes from Amazon and return flat, operator-readable cell values.

Access: **READ** · toolset amazon_sp · family sp.catalogItems_2022-04-01

Keys are Amazon's flat-file keys, as listings_prepare_publish_queue_template writes them. For several ASINs use listings_fetch_attributes_by_asins (one call); to edit a listing you own, fetch by SKU (listings_fetch_attributes_by_skus) — an ASIN returns Amazon's merged catalog values, not what you submitted. Amazon SP-API · getCatalogItem · GET /catalog/2022-04-01/items/{asin} Amazon SP-API · getDefinitionsProductType · GET /definitions/2020-09-01/productTypes/{productType} If productType is omitted, the catalog response's productTypes entry matching the store marketplace (else the first) is used as the inferred productType.

## Arguments

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `store` | string | yes | the store ref `<store>-<CC>` (name-country, e.g. 'myStore-US') — one of get_user_context's store_refs, verbatim. |
| `asin` | string | yes | the ASIN (e.g. 'B0XXXXXXXX'). |
| `productType` | string | | Optional explicit Amazon productType. When omitted it is inferred from the catalog response's productTypes. |
| `locale` | string | | Schema/catalog locale passed to getCatalogItem + getDefinitionsProductType. Defaults to the marketplace's default locale. Allowed: DEFAULT \| ar \| ar_AE \| de \| de_DE \| en \| en_AE \| en_AU \| en_CA \| en_GB \| en_IN \| en_SG \| en_US \| es \| es_ES \| es_MX \| es_US \| fr \| fr_CA \| fr_FR \| it \| it_IT \| ja \| ja_JP \| nl \| nl_NL \| pl \| pl_PL \| pt \| pt_BR \| pt_PT \| sv \| sv_SE \| tr \| tr_TR \| zh \| zh_CN \| zh_TW. Allowed: DEFAULT \| ar \| ar_AE \| de \| de_DE \| en \| en_AE \| en_AU \| en_CA \| en_GB \| en_IN \| en_SG \| en_US \| es \| es_ES \| es_MX \| es_US \| fr \| fr_CA \| fr_FR \| it \| it_IT \| ja \| ja_JP \| nl \| nl_NL \| pl \| pl_PL \| pt \| pt_BR \| pt_PT \| sv \| sv_SE \| tr \| tr_TR \| zh \| zh_CN \| zh_TW. |
| `language_tag` | string | | the one language kept; defaults to the marketplace's primary listing locale. |

## Result

- `data.attributes` — {key: cell_string} — the flat-file key grammar.
- `data.names` — {key: display_name} — a NEW key's display name.
- `data.dropped_entries` — {attr: sentence} — entries skipped for a foreign marketplace/language, one plain-English sentence per attribute.
- `data.productType` — the productType used (provided or inferred)
- `data.notes` — [] normally; one sentence when the product-type schema could not be served and the cells were typed from the JSON alone.
