# fbaOutbound_createFulfillmentReturn (https://sellersheetai.com/docs/mcp-api/tools/fbaOutbound_createFulfillmentReturn)

> Create a return for a fulfilled MCF order.

Access: **WRITE** · toolset amazon_sp · family sp.fulfillmentOutbound_2020-07-01

Amazon SP-API · createFulfillmentReturn · PUT /fba/outbound/2020-07-01/fulfillmentOrders/{sellerFulfillmentOrderId}/return Gate: approve — interactive: show the change (Amazon's preview first where one exists), wait for an explicit approve; autopilot: only when the seller's own words asked for this change; otherwise ask. Call fbaOutbound_listReturnReasonCodes first to get valid returnReasonCode values.

## Call it

MCP tool call:

```json
{
  "name": "fbaOutbound_createFulfillmentReturn",
  "arguments": {
    "store": "myStore-US",
    "seller_fulfillment_order_id": "<seller_fulfillment_order_id>",
    "items": []
  }
}
```

Tool API (early access — contact us):

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.sellersheetai.com/api/v1/tools/fbaOutbound_createFulfillmentReturn \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SELLERSHEET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"store":"myStore-US","seller_fulfillment_order_id":"<seller_fulfillment_order_id>","items":[]}'
```

## Arguments

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `store` | string | yes | the store ref `<store>-<CC>` (name-country, e.g. 'myStore-US') — one of get_user_context's store_refs, verbatim. |
| `seller_fulfillment_order_id` | string | yes | the order being returned. |
| `items` | object[] | yes | list of CreateReturnItem — each {sellerReturnItemId (your own id), sellerFulfillmentOrderItemId (the item id on the order), amazonShipmentId (fbaOutbound_getFulfillmentOrder → fulfillmentShipments[].amazonShipmentId), returnReasonCode, optional returnComment}. returnReasonCode: NOT a fixed enum — values are SKU/marketplace specific. Call fbaOutbound_listReturnReasonCodes(store, seller_sku) first and use a returnReasonCode from its data.reasonCodeDetails. |

## Result

- `data.returnItems` — the items Amazon accepted.
- `data.invalidReturnItems` — the items Amazon refused, each with invalidItemReason {invalidItemReasonCode, description}.
- `data.returnAuthorizations` — {returnAuthorizationId, amazonRmaId, rmaPageURL (return label page), returnToAddress}.
- `notification.type` — 'warning' when any item is invalid, 'error' when none were accepted — the message counts accepted items against the number requested.

## Body (Amazon schema): {items: [CreateReturnItem]}, each item
