# doc_batch_update (https://sellersheetai.com/docs/mcp-api/tools/doc_batch_update)

> Escape hatch: apply a raw Docs API batchUpdate Requests list.

Access: **DESTRUCTIVE** · toolset google_workspace · family null

Use it for operations no other doc tool exposes (named ranges, table-cell merges, footnotes, section styles); the list is applied atomically — one invalid request fails them all. Request shapes are documented at https://developers.google.com/docs/api/reference/rest/v1/documents/request

## Call it

MCP tool call:

```json
{
  "name": "doc_batch_update",
  "arguments": {
    "documentId": "<documentId>",
    "requests": []
  }
}
```

Tool API (early access — contact us):

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.sellersheetai.com/api/v1/tools/doc_batch_update \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SELLERSHEET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"documentId":"<documentId>","requests":[]}'
```

## Arguments

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `documentId` | string | yes | the Google Docs document ID. |
| `requests` | object[] | yes | List of Docs API Request objects. |

## Result

- `replies` — one entry per request, in order (e.g. replies[0].createHeader.headerId); an empty requests list returns replies: [] without calling Google.
