# apply_sheet_table_style (https://sellersheetai.com/docs/mcp-api/tools/apply_sheet_table_style)

> Style an already-written range as a table: a bold, coloured, centred header row, alternating row bands, thin grey borders and a frozen header.

Access: **WRITE** · toolset google_workspace · family null

Use it after writing the data; for a single fill or font change, use format_sheet_range.

## Call it

MCP tool call:

```json
{
  "name": "apply_sheet_table_style",
  "arguments": {
    "spreadsheet_id": "<spreadsheet_id>",
    "range_": "<range_>"
  }
}
```

Tool API (early access — contact us):

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.sellersheetai.com/api/v1/tools/apply_sheet_table_style \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SELLERSHEET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"spreadsheet_id":"<spreadsheet_id>","range_":"<range_>"}'
```

## Arguments

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `spreadsheet_id` | string | yes | the spreadsheet ID (from its URL or get_sheet_metadata). |
| `range_` | string | yes | A1 range with at least 2 rows, e.g. 'Summary!A1:D20'. Its first row is the header; the remaining rows get the alternating bands. |
| `header_color` | object[] |  | RGB floats 0–1. Defaults: [0.27, 0.45, 0.77] (blue), [1, 1, 1] (white), [0.95, 0.95, 0.95] (light grey). |
| `header_text_color` | object[] |  | RGB floats 0–1. Defaults: [0.27, 0.45, 0.77] (blue), [1, 1, 1] (white), [0.95, 0.95, 0.95] (light grey). |
| `alt_row_color` | object[] |  | RGB floats 0–1. Defaults: [0.27, 0.45, 0.77] (blue), [1, 1, 1] (white), [0.95, 0.95, 0.95] (light grey). |
| `freeze_header` | boolean |  | Freeze rows above + including the header row. Default True. |
| `add_borders` | boolean |  | Apply thin borders. Default True. |

## Result

- `data.bandedRangeId` — the id of the new banding.
- `data.frozeHeader / data.addedBorders` — what was applied.

## Gotchas

- Every range here must name its tab and both ends ('Tab!A1:D10'); a range without a tab ('A1:D10') or with an open end ('Tab!A:D') is refused.

## Example

- apply_sheet_table_style("1ABC...", "Summary!A1:D10")
